Israel's Irish embassy deletes picture of Molly Malone in niqab

The pictures also showed European landmarks with weapons such as suicide bombs.

THE ISRAELI EMBASSY in Ireland has deleted a picture that shows the Molly Malone statue in full Muslim dress.

The pictures were posted on social media over the weekend and contained European landmarks in Muslim dress or armed with weapons. It contains the slogan “Israel is the last frontier of the free world”.

The posting of the pictures sparked a fierce backlash online and the pictures were subsequently deleted, though an embassy spokesperson told The Sun they weren’t sure why.

Last week, the embassy tweeted a picture that compared Hamas to Hitler.

The Israeli ambassador told the Daily Telegraph that he would not comment on the pictures because “we are now in the middle of a war and I have other things to deal with”.

Calls to the Israeli Embassy went unanswered this morning and a request for comment has not been returned.
