Court fines Mick Wallace TD €7,000

Wallace pleaded guilty to five charges of failing to pay contributions into his employees’ pension schemes on time.

INDEPENDENT TD MICK WALLACE has been fined €7,000 for the failure to pay pension contributions for employees of his construction company on time.

Wallace pleaded guilty at Dublin District Court today to five charges of not paying into the scheme between January and May 2008, RTÉ reports. Another 19 counts were dropped by the Pensions Board ahead of his appearance.

Newstalk reports that the total amount owing was more than €49,000.
