Gardaí looking for member of the public who helped hit-and-run victim in Dublin

The incident happened one month ago.

GARDAÍ IN RAHENY have issued a fresh appeal for information about a hit-and-run which left a man hospitalised last month.

Investigating gardaí wish to speak with a member of the public who “may have stopped and given assistance to the injured man”.

It is thought that he could possibly have been driving behind the offending vehicle at the time of the incident – just before 11am on Monday, 26 September.

The victim – a man in his 20s – was walking at Mount Olive Park in Kilbarrack when he was struck by a small, grey-coloured car. The driver failed to remain at the scene.

The pedestrian received medical assistance at the scene from ambulance staff and was transported to Beaumont Hospital with minor injuries.

An appeal for witnesses has been issued again today. Anyone with information – as well as the man who stopped to help – are being asked to contact the local station on 01 666 4300 or the confidential line on 1800 666 111.
