Bomb squad called in after 'suspect device' thrown at home in north Dublin suburb

Homes have been evacuated in the area, and the gardaí have requested the Defence Forces attend the scene.

UNITS FROM THE Defence Forces’ bomb disposal unit have been called in by the gardaí as a precaution, after a suspect device was thrown at a home in Dublin this evening.

A garda spokesperson told TheJournal.ie that the alarm was raised shortly after 7pm after a suspected bomb was thrown at the window of a house on Clonshaugh Drive in the north Dublin suburb.

A number of houses have also been evacuated as a precautionary measure.

It is understood no one was injured in the incident.

A unit of the Defence Forces’ Emergency Ordinance Disposal team is attending to make the scene safe.
