Company sets-up safety deposit vault as burglaries rise and people fear banks

The company plan on hiring up to 20 people directly in the Dublin company.

AN IRISH COMPANY has set up Ireland’s first independent safety deposit box facility following what they described as a “huge demand” for the service.

Merrion Private Vaults was launched after a survey found people sought to store their valuables safely as burglaries rise and confidence in banking falters.

The company plan on hiring up to 20 people directly in the company and in supporting services, which is set to open in September.

Merrion Private Vaults is the brainchild of David Walsh, who works in advertising, and jeweller Seamus Fahy, and is located just off Merrion Square in Dublin.

Traditionally banks have provided boxes in various branches but are now ceasing or have ceased to provide them, said Fahy.

“People from urban and rural areas have indicated that as the bank closed its branch in the area, they have nowhere to put valuables. Home burglaries – often with extreme violence – are on the increase,” he added.

The vault, which have been constructed using the very latest state-of-the-art security technology, will have several thousand safety deposit boxes of varying sizes and can be rented on an annual basis.

I hope they checked that the building next door didn’t have a old disused swimming pool which wasn’t on original blue prints…..

He does this all the time. He’s just fixated on his hatred for those who build swimming pools without planning permission. Get over it Bob!

Seems like a reasonable idea. Should be fairly safe and no requirement for money to be hit by dirt as in with the banks. No interest though but interest is so low it’s not worth worrying about.

You should probably add that aggravated burglary (with violence as they call it) actually decreased 18% last year while burglary only increased a marginal 0.3% despite what some media reporting might have you believe. A little counter fear mongering context.

When oh when are governments going to take back control of our country s .
They make laws but cannot police them , usually after the horse has bolted , if they catch them they walk free , because someone stole their lolly when they were three . But hundreds of others had same thing happen to them but don’t break the law . It’s sickening watching history repeating itself .

Never mind the world, what has Ireland come to? A (small) class of sub-humans wondering around our streets with impunity, robbing and mugging etc is a way of life to these sc*#bags, mostly with 40+ convictions out on bail cos locking them up would infringe on THEIR human rights, what about my human right when 1 of these bottom feeders broke into my house armed with syringe?
