JOHN DUNDON HAS been found guilty of the murder of rugby player Shane Geoghegan in Limerick in November 2008.
The three presiding judges at the Special Criminal Court decided the the evidence of the three main prosecution witnesses – including April Collins, the former partner of Dundon’s brother, and her sister Lisa – was credible.
The court has imposed the mandatory life sentence on Dundon for the murder.
Garryowen rugby player Shane Geoghegan was killed in the early hours of 9 November in a case of mistaken identity as he walked to his girlfriend’s house in Limerick. He was shot five times. The Court noted in its judgement that the intended target of the attack was John ‘Pitchford’ McNamara, a man who lived four doors away in the Clonmore estate.
Dublin man Barry Doyle was convicted of carrying out the murder but it was subsequently alleged that Dundon participated in the killing by way of ordering and directing the murder of McNamara at a meeting in early November 2008.
Dundon had pleaded not guilty to the murder when he was arraigned on 2 July. He wore headphones as today’s verdict was being read, keeping his head down and nodding to music playing from a CD Walkman.

It’s good to see people sorting themselves out but why do we commend people for eating properly and exercising. Instead we should be harder on those that don’t.

I care – because (I) I’ve enough empathy to want people (whether I know them or not to be happy) (2) every less obese person is less strain on the health system and (3) it is unusual for someone once they put the weight off to keep it off, so anyone inspiring others to do the same benefits us all.

The meals look really tasty actually! I need some variety with my food! I always just end up making a stirfry when I’m trying to eat well which I get bored off and that’s when I end up having a bit of a pig-out! I follow the Bodycoach on Facebook and Instagram and he often posts meal ideas that look quick and tasty .. I have yet to try them out though.
