US prosecutors demand 60 years for whistleblower Bradley Manning

The 25-year-old former army intelligence analyst has been convicted on a raft of espionage and theft charges that could see him jailed for more than a century.

US MILITARY PROSECUTORS demanded earlier that Private Bradley Manning spend at least 60 years in jail for handing a vast trove of secret files to anti-secrecy site WikiLeaks.

Captain Joe Morrow urged trial judge Colonel Denise Lind to impose a tough sentence to “send a message to any soldier contemplating stealing classified information.”

The 25-year-old former army intelligence analyst has been convicted on a raft of espionage and theft charges that could see him jailed for more than a century.

But Lind is conducting a sentencing at Fort Meade, a military base just outside Washington, to decide how long the young man, who has apologized, should serve.

Morrow dismissed the defense argument that Manning was a naive and troubled soldier who believed he was doing good by exposing what he saw as abuses in America’s conduct of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Instead, the prosecutor branded the leaks “destructive” and said Manning was a “determined insider who exploited an imperfect system.”

Are they definitely using them to “get high” or are they just using them. There’s a huge difference.

A very bad headline. Sleeping tablets can be abused but “getting high” is not a helpful description.

Benzo’s are downers not uppers. Zopiclone is a hypnotic (a sleeping tablet)… Generally u doze off after them. Same as Valium and Xanax. So they may be using or abusing them… But surely not getting ‘high’ on them…??

Jaysus I only have stand up suddenly to get a buzz on these days, it seemed every time I saw a doctor they’d throw another tablet at me for something or other.
Does anyone else have the problem of ‘Consultant GP Secretaries’? I’m on a lot of medication, it doesn’t change very much, but every time I need a prescription the ‘Consultant Secretaries’ manage to screw it up. I’ve been given the wrong medication, someone else’s prescription, every time I get my prescription there’s always something wrong or missing or they decide to change the dose of some of my medication. Thankfully I have a very patient and attentive Pharmacist who catches all these foul ups. I have tried speaking about it to my GP but he became somewhat irate at the mere suggestion and brushed it off as my fault.

Sure you’d want to be on Xanax waiting for SUSI to make a decision.

Xanax and other benzodiazepines are the most abused drugs right now, more popular than heroin among addicts. They’re called charge sheets down by me.

Alprazolam is pretty tame in its recreational effect to be honest unless you suffer from an anxiety related disorder. Taking them in this case alleviates the anxiety thus allowing the user to feel a high.
