TD asks Oireachtas to question Ryanair on safety record

Fianna Fáil TD Timmy Dooley has written to the chair of the Oireachtas Committee on Transport to ask him to invite Ryanair to discuss their procedures.

A FIANNA FÁIL TD has asked an Oireachtas committee to investigate recent allegations into Ryanair’s safety record – which the airline has strenuously denied.

Timmy Dooley said he has written to the Chairman of the Committee on Transport and Communications – Fine Gael TD Tom Hayes – to ask him to formally invite Ryanair before the commitee.

Dooley said it would give the company a forum in which to publicly discuss its safety procedures.

Ryanair is taking legal action against Channel 4′s Dispatches programme over claims it broadcast about the airline’s fuel and safety policies. Ryanair is also taking legal action against the Daily Mail Online and the Daily Mirror over the claims, but dropped its plan to sue the Belfast Telegraph after the paper apologised.

“The documentary raises a series of important issues that require further investigation,” said Dooley. “In the public interest and the interests of the airline, it is important that we get to the bottom of what has been reported.”

A hospital must be the most difficult building to plan a fire evacuation plan for. Since most of the people in the building require special assistance to move and even specialised equipment to stay breathing. That and the whole building is a fire hazard with oxygen being piped everywhere.
    God love them.
