And the left wing nutters and conspiracy theorists who blame Israel for everything are out in force yet again showing off their stupidity for all to see. The Czech police have said there is was no attack or targetting of Al-Jamal. The “Palestinian” Foreign Minister Riad Malki, who never misses an opportunity to try to blame Israel for something has said the safe was recently moved from the old “embassy” building and had not been opened in 30 years!!! What an “embassy” was doing looking after explosives in it’s safe doesn’t take much imagination, especially given the terrorist activities of Palestinians in Europe back then.

People should not jump to conclusions. All indications from Prague and the Palestinian political structures so far suggest that a device installed in his safe exploded. The safe device was installed by the Palestinians themselves to make documents self destruct if there was an attempt to break into the safe. For whatever reason that went pear shaped and this poor man is now dead as a consequence. Blaming Mossad or the Israelis with no evidence is of no benefit to anyone and in fact is counter productive. People should remember the fable of the boy who cried wolf!

The kind of idiots on the anti-Israel bandwagon like to blame Israel for everything & anything. Israel has been the cause of flooding in Gaza, an earthquake in Iran & the Tsunami in the Pacific in the last few years. The irrational hatred of Israel is strong in the hearts of some very vocal empty vessels in Ireland. They don’t seem half as concerned about the hundreds of thousands of people killed in Syria, Sudan or Congo in recent years though. The anti-Israel bandwagon is obviously far too glamourous for them to miss.

Al-Jamal was born in 1957, in Beirut’s Sabra and Shatilla refugee camp. His family is originally from Jaffa in what is now Israel. That would make him Lebanese by birth and Israeli Arab by Heritage. It took me a while to find anything on him. Should have expected that one anyway before I laid down the challenge :).

Ethnic Cleansing Drive of 1948? Oh! You mean when Egyptian, Syrian, Jordanian and Iraqi forces invaded Israel, got their arses handed to them in a sack and the invading forces were kicked out of Israel along with the fifth columnists that tagged along? It seems to be a common tactic with muslims, they start a fight, lose it due to incompetence and go crying to the International community to save them from whoever they pissed off. In fact, have they ever won a war without Western help?

I have tremendous sympathy for the Palestinian Arabs in both the West Bank and Gaza, who are trapped between a rock and a hard place – the rock being their own leaders and the Arab League and the hard place being Israel and the IDF.
In 1948 following the Israeli War of Independence, approx. 700,000 Palestinian Arabs became refugees. In the following years, approx. 900,000 Jews from Arab lands became refugees too, ‘encouraged’ to leave those countries.
Today, there is not a single Jewish refugee from that time; there are however hundreds of thousands of Palestinian Arab refugees, along with their families. Why? Why has not the Arab League absorbed it’s brother Arabs? Why do they remain living in squalid and disgusting refugee camps?
In the past 64+ years, much has happened in the world. I won’t begin to debate the rights and wrongs of the Middle East conflict as I have work to go to and we could be on screen for hours if not days.
As has become obvious from the Arab Spring, treatment of Arabs by their leaders has been ‘unsatisfactory’, hence the uprisings. The treatment of Palestinian Arabs has been worst of all and not by Israel, but by their own leaders.
Right now in the West Bank, Salam Fayad, the PM, is building the infrastructure of a state for the Palestinian people and there is relative calm there. It will take time but the basis for a future state is now being created and will hopefully emerge in due course. Gaza on the other hand is in chaos.

    Munich = Black September(Palestinians)

As for the Bulgarian attack the German intelligence agencies have raised skepticism about direct Hezbollah involvement and the most the US and Bulgaria have said so far is the ‘reasonable assumption’ (in other words no evidence) to directly link Hezbollah. No doubt there was some involvement from Lebanon through individuals which may have had contacts with Hezbollah.

As much as people like to give out about any ardent pro Palestinian/ anti Israeli for focussing too much on blaming Israel for everything you seem to be drinking out of the same cup.

The US state departments description of Hezbollah still attributes the bombing of the US base in Riyadh to them even though it is widely acknowledged even by the secretary of state at the time that it was Al Qaeda.

It’s always better to do some independent research around rather than just believing the first reports put out into the media by such agencies.

The NYT and HRW report on the chemical attack in Ghouta placing the missile originating from a Syrian govt base 9km away has been debunked now as they were launched within 3km of the impact site and they have accepted that themselves and this was the most prominent public information trying to leverage opinion in support of bombing Syria.

It is much more likely that a diplomat would have the iq of a baboon and do something so stupid as to defy belief !!

Of course Mossad would never want to assassinate a member of the Palastinian diplomatic corps. And we know from their history and past actions that they are upstanding honest citizens …. Indeed I believe quite a lot of them are Irish …. or at least carry Irish passports.

I cannot ….. and neither can you outline the reasons that my hypothesis may not be true ! The news agencies are merely reporting what the Czech police are saying in the immediate aftermath of the incident. They are unlikely to say at this VERY early stage of an investigation that they think it was Mossad and immediately trigger international tensions. It makes much more sense to issue a non committal statement and investigate fully. And no I am not a conspiracy theorist as you suggest ( without knowing me ) but you cannot be so ignorant as to ignore the past history of Mossad and the ridiculous nature if this poor mans death. It’s hard not to think 2 plus 2 equals 4 ! But I would suggest waiting for the investigation rather then relying on news media …. Open your mind.

    http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/90585.aspx
I particularly like the part that reads
Zoulova said the blast was probably caused by an anti-theft system on the door of the safe.
“We cannot rule out mishandling the device. The victim has died so it will be harder to prove the cause,” she said, adding the police were also searching a building next door which also belongs to the Palestinian embassy.
Quoting sources close to the police investigation, the Novinky.cz news site said the police had found “a significant quantity of weapons and explosives” in the building.
“I cannot confirm this information right now,” said Zoulova.

So basically another pa-lies-tinian blows himself up out of either stupidity or negligence.

    Re Hyeon.

Well, Israel is commonly referred to as the only democracy in the Middle East. Nothing could be further from the truth.

It is an ethnocracy. Israel ensures that the population of Jerusalem never has less than 72 Jewish people out of every 100 people living there in residence. This is not the only place the Israelis do this.
An ethnocracy is in its very nature an undemocratic society.

@ Horgay, are you seriously saying that Israel is LESS democratic than the countries surrounding it in the Middle East. And your definition of an ethnocracy is so wrong, you barely got the name right. Ethnocracy is a form of government where representatives of a particular ethnic group hold a number of government posts disproportionately large to the percentage of the total population that the particular ethnic group(s) represents and use them to advance the position of their particular ethnic group(s) to the detriment of others. As 75 % of the Israeli population is Jewish then it is actually a democracy as opposed to the Theocracies so prevalent in muslim countries.

There is simply no evidence of any connection between the death of the Palestinian Ambassador to the Czech Republic and Israel. All the information so far indicates that the newly appointed Ambassador was trying to open a safe which was fitted with a mechanism which was designed to blow the safe up unless it was opened using appropriate procedures. If that is true, then the Palestinian authorities are to blame for not adequately briefing the Palestinian Ambassador.

Based on your initial comment no investigation needs to be done as you know exactly what agency is responsible. Now, if you had said something along the lines of “in my opinion, it was probably the Mossad” then that would be different. If, as the Palestinians and the Czechs are claiming, it is proven that it was an accident caused by the man himself, will you admit you’re wrong? Probably not!

Tomas, everyone including the Palestinian Authority itself, seem to agree that the accident took place because Mr Jamal was trying to open an old safe which had not been opened for many years but which apparently was fitted with a self-destruction device which apparently Mr Jamal did not know about. Mr Jamal was a member of the mainstream PLO that runs the West Bank rather than Hamas that runs Gaza. He is unlikely to be an Israeli target but could possibly have been a target for other Palestinian or Arab factions.
