    Can someone from the Journal leave us know what’s happening with the site today? A simple courtesy goes a long way….

    Hi Niall, sorry about that. The site went down for several hours this morning/afternoon. We put lots of messages out on our Twitter and Facebook pages to explain what was going on, and published articles on our Tumblr page as a stop-gap solution, but we couldn’t put anything up on the site to explain what was happening because of the major technical problem which brought the site down in the first place. Again, apologies for this. Everything should (hopefully!) be back to normal now.

    Thanks for response Christine :}

    As an ex IT user since their revamp I was beginning to get a little worried that something similar was coming down the tracks :}

    Still having problems, I’m indiscriminately getting logged in and out, and this is my third time trying to respond to your post. It seems a little more stable last few mins though.

    Ha, don’t worry, we’d tell our readers if we were planning to do anything dramatic! (And we’d try to do it in a slightly less heart-attack-inducing way if were were. My blood pressure still isn’t back to normal…).

    I’ve let tech know about the problem you’re having with commenting. Hopefully it’s just the remnants of the earlier problem that should be righting itself by now, but I’ll see what they say *prays to benign computer gods*
