GARDAÍ HAVE LAUNCHED a murder investigation following the discovery of a body at a beach in Mornington, county Meath this morning.
The victim, a male in his 40s, was discovered between Lady’s Finger Tower and Mornington Tower at about 9am by a walker who immediately informed gardaí.
The man appeared to have sustained serious head injuries.
The area was sealed off for forensic technical examinations and the State Pathologist’s office notified. A post-mortem exam was carried out on the remains by Dr Marie Cassidy at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
Gardaí believe the victim was originally from eastern Europe but have declined to release his name until all family have been notified.
An incident room has been set up at Laytown Garda Station and an appeal for information has been issued. Detectives would like to speak to anybody who was in the Mornington Beach area between 10pm Monday and 9am this morning. They also want to reach anybody who noticed an “altercation, row or unusual incident” in Drogheda during those times.

@Derek o keeffe: Because like most clinical trials this one was carried out on mice to gauge reactions/side effects..
Without such trials the average human life expectancy would still be somewhere between 35/55 and we wouldn’t have the vast majority of the current life saving Cancer and AIDS treatments to mention just two…

Cannabis works on pain as well oh thats right big pharmaceuticals cant profit off that though.Cannabis is one of the biggest break throughs in medicine but our media seem to ignore it.
Can you “milk” the fish for venom, package it and sell it to people? Asking for a friend.

What’s the point. Patients still can’t get the medicinal cannabis that could help them.
It’s not IF we lose the Great Barrier Reef it’s WHEN. Better stock up on tanks pumps and protein skimmers all of which will require a lot of fossil fuel generated electricity to run if we want to keep the blenny inter alia.
Mind it’s probably moot given the mindless approach of governments and society to date towards natural painkillers and cancer killing substances. If it actually delivers a useful result he blenny will probably be banned by law.
