Man to appear in court over cash-in-transit robbery

Cash stolen in the Tallaght robbery was later found in shopping bags in a garden.

A MALE WHO had been detained at Tallaght Garda Station in relation to the cash in transit robbery on Monday is scheduled to appear before Tallaght District Court tomorrow.

The armed robbery took place on the Old Bawn Road Monday afternoon at about 1pm.

Three men, two of whom were armed with a shotgun, confronted the security worker as he was making the cash collection.

A third man remained in the car and they escaped with a sum of money in a silver Aventis which went in the direction of Allenton Estate.

The car was later recovered in Allenton. There were no injuries or shots discharged.

The money was later recovered in a shopping bag in a garden in Tallaght.
