Brendan O'Carroll appeals to the public to help find missing woman

It’s believed Peggy was seen at the film set of Mrs Brown’s Boys the movie. Actor Brendan O’Carroll said they were filming in three locations yesterday.

ACTOR BRENDAN O’CARROLL has appealed to the public for any information that might help in the search for Margaret Mangan who is missing since yesterday.

‘Peggy’, as she is best known, is an Alzheimer’s sufferer. She left her home at Mount Tallant Avenue, Terenure, walking her King Charles Cavalier dog at approximately 11am yesterday morning.

It is believed that the 65-year-old was seen at the film set of Mrs Brown’s Boys the movie in Glasnevin.

Alzheimer’s

Speaking on the RTE’s The Ryan Tubridy Show, O’Carroll said they were shooting at three locations in the Glasnevin yesterday.

“Our base was at the back of Woodies, across from Glasnevin cemetery. We were also shooting up at a house in Clareville Estate and at The Gravediggers Pub at the back of the cemetary.”

He said he did not want people to think that if they were just at the one location and didn’t see her, that it was the only location she could be.

“We were shooting between 3pm and midnight, so any time between those times. If anyone saw a woman with a King Charles spaniel in one of those locations, please come forward,” he said.

He added that they encourage crew to bring their dogs with them to the set as they “liven the place up a bit, so there would have been a lot of dogs around and there would have been a lot of dog lovers around”.

Dog collar

He added “Peggy’s dog has a collar on him that has all the family details on it, so hopefully by the end of the day we can track her down and get her back with her family”.

It is believed that Peggy might have stopped to talk to one of the crew members on set. O’Carroll said that gardaí were canvassing all cast and crew.

“You wouldn’t miss Peggy, she is 5’ 2” in height with a King Charles spaniel – so we are hoping one of our cast or crew can come up with something,” he said.

“Our priority today is to find Peggy,” said O’Carroll.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Terenure Garda Station 01-6666400 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.

Awful worry for her family. Hope the community will rally round and get people searching, although I’ve noticed recently that communities seem extraordinarily good in cases of missing persons.

Don’t be so petty, there’s a woman missing since yesterday and yet ignorant people still feel to voice their ignorant opinion when clearly it’s not needed at a time like this, learn how to keep it shut

She “answers” to Peggy. This is a human being not a dog.

A human being with Alzheimer’s disease. Anyone who sees her needs to be sensitive about approaching.
It’s extremely rude to nitpick at such significant details in this awful case, show some consideration.

Really hoping the best for Peggy, her friends and family.

I think what was meant by this is her name is Margaret but she is known as Peggy. Hopefully she is found safely soon.

I actually agree with this. It should read “she normally goes by, or is called Peggy by her friends”. She answers to, is a phrase only ever used for animals. Nit picking is justified, the journal is the worst offender in terms of poor spelling and bad writing or sentence structure of any news app I have on my phone. The amount of mistakes on here is ridiculous, please drop the self righteous lecturing on here also. Yes we hope the woman is found safe, but we are entitled to make any comment we want on any aspect of a journalistic piece. So get back in your box.

Ah here !! Who pissed in your cornflakes ? I have “answered to” a particular version of my name for years and I’m not a dog. It’s just an expression – maybe not the most carefully chosen, but it hardly warrants that little rant of yours. As for the woman who is missing , I hope she’s found, and soon. It would be useful to know her little dogs name as well. If her Alzheimer’s has given her a memory lapse she may not remember her own name but if somebody knew and called the dogs name on sighting her it might get a reaction

I truly hope and pray that Peggy is found safe and well.

(There is less chance of Brendan O’Carroll finding an actually funny comedy.)
