75 new jobs announced in Irish tech firm

The company started in a two-person office in Dublin in 1997 and now has over 400 employees worldwide.

IRISH TECHNOLOGY COMPANY IT Alliance Group is to create 75 jobs over the next year, it was announced today.

The announcement was made by Taoiseach Enda Kenny at the firm’s new global headquarters in Park West, Dublin. The €2 million investment that will create the jobs is supported by Enterprise Ireland.

IT Alliance Group started in a two-person office in Dublin in 1997 and now employs over 400 people worldwide providing a service to customers including Microsoft, IMB, BT and Dell.

It specialises in IT project and service management, testing, infrastructure technologies and resource management.

Speaking at the opening of the headquarters today, the Taoiseach said he sees “no reason why Irish companies cannot create strong, dominant technology brands that compete internationally over the next decade, especially those in the emerging cloud sector.”

Stupid fu€king comment. Look at the Salary the CEO of British gas got last year and compare it to the avg earnings in BGE. This can only mean bigger prices for gas customers in a unregulated market and more that likely another couple hundred people in the social welfare system next year.

It sure is Murtaza. 10 years ago we were swanning around the world, pretending we had money, pretending we knew what we were doing, telling other countries how to run their economy, based on ours. Our ‘entrepreneur’ developers were buying up properties in London, Dubai, New York & anywhere else they could pay over the odds, just to show the world how great they & we were. If our government had a problem, it was solved by throwing money at it, and then we applauded & encouraged them by voting them time & again.
Today is reality, hopefully with this new consortium coming in, their competitors might follow and hopefully there might be some REAL competition in the energy sector here.

Going once, going twice, Ireland is definitely on the market today…… No more bids SOLD to the guy on phone from overseas

    Meeting tomorrow to new shareholders
    1we will cut cost
2new restructure already in place(move assets and down grade infrasture)
3we will try to increase dividend by 6% to loyal overseas investors(makes ireland look good for foreign investors, helps local economy, and much much more)
5 raise directors salaries cause we lucky to have them on board

6 the big one……. Wait six months as we milk it then ask “”push over Enda”" can we get some government money to bail us and keep company going so the poor irish people can have gas…….. After it approved then…… Split shares and also issue more cause everyone will want them as govt will help…….. Wail till they go up to double then directors will offload

Is it the end ….god no …….. Govt buys back and has to invest billions as no reinvestment was made during this period

Then my sons and daughters can pay for it all over again

    By the way……..HAPPY CHRISTMAS

Centrica have a reputation of running a lean and mean ship so if I was an employee of bord gas I would be very worried ce trica will come in review what it can synergies withits uk operations and then cut the numbers , the irish idea that we need 250 people to run a power station is well off the norm . Let’s hope, they retain the full workforce and not bring over workers from uk . Further they were one of the first to raise gas prices until, the uk government slowed them down , I don’t see spineless Enda doing anything for the ordinary man . Get some solar hearing in and start to think of going back to oil . From news abroad Libya and Iran will be fully back in the oil supply side within 6 mths and we may well have a glut and drop in prices around mid year before winter fuel hikes . Why sell it ? British gas will raise prices to levels where people can’t afford it. Look what they’ve done in Britain. Sell our gas, sell our oil, sell our homes, sell everything. Irish people will be borrowed and renters on their own land.

Ah, but the people selling it *can* afford it, and thanks to their huge pensions they always will. That’s all that matters.

I’d feel less annoyed by this if I honestly believed Centrica was going to mean competition and capitalism in the energy sector, but it’s not. As soon as revenues fail to meet projections or investment is required, the state will subsidise them (see also: toll roads), and whenever their latest hikes provoke outrage the then-government will b;ame whatever binding agreements the current government made.

So for the next bailout what are we going to sell off? Surely a simi-state company is profitable and return a decent enough amount each year? Privatising such a big company with €€€€ rolling in the buyers eyes ain’t good for the poor consumer

    From Wikipedia on “Centrica”:
    Greenwash
British Gas was accused of greenwashing in the advertising of its Zero Carbon tariff in 2008 after the Advertising Standards Association upheld a complaint about the ‘greenest domestic tariff’ claim.[31]
Following this adjudication, British Gas signed up to Ofgem’s Green Supply Guidelines which aim to give an objective interpretation of ‘green tariffs’ and raise the standard of industry products. British Gas supported the stipulation that a green tariff must deliver an additional environmental benefit and not simply charge a premium for renewable electricity that would have been generated anyway under the Renewables Obligation. The company continues to offer Zero Carbon which is based on this principle of additionality.
    Customer complaint response:
In July 2011, British Gas was fined £2.5m by the energy regulator Ofgem for failing to deal properly with customer complaints.[32] After a year-long investigation into the British Gas, Ofgem found it had breached regulations on how energy companies should handle disputes. Ofgem found that British Gas failed to re-open complaints from customers who indicated they felt the matter was not resolved adequately, failed to provide sufficient information to complainants about the energy ombudsman service, and failed to deal properly with complaints from micro-businesses because it had not implement the necessary processes and practices.[32]
A spokesperson for British Gas said the company felt that finding it in breach of rules for failing to provide adequate information to consumers about the energy ombudsman was “disproportionate to the mistake”.[32]
British Gas Business was fined £1m in July after Ofgem’s investigation found the company had misreported the amount of electricity supplied under the British government’s renewables obligation.[32] British Gas claims it spotted the problem – it said an over-reporting of the amount of renewable energy it was supplying caused by human error – and notified the regulator
