Good news: Over 330 new jobs announced across Ireland

The jobs are across a range of sectors including software development, online security, internet and digital media.

Updated 23:00

MORE THAN 330 new jobs were announced in Dublin, Cork and Limerick earlier today in nine companies supported by IDA Ireland.

The new jobs are across a range of sectors including software development, online security, internet and digital media.

In Dublin, seven companies are creating some 275  jobs in total including:

  • 100 jobs at AdRoll’s European headquarters;
  • 50 positions in Nitro’s EMEA HQ;
  • 30 jobs in Zendesk, doubling its Dublin workforce;
  • 30 jobs at cloud-based legal software company Clio;
  • 25 positions at Amazon.zom marketplace sellers Pearl Street Enterprises;
  • 25 jobs in internet domain name provider Minds and Machines;
  • 15 new positions at AerData’s sales and marketing centre.

There will be 30 new jobs at StorageCraft’s new international headquarters in Cork and another 30 at EtQ in Limerick.

Announcing the jobs today, Taoiseach Enda Kenny said the government is determined to keep building on jobs being created in the private sector each month in order to get people back to work.

Executive Director of IDA Ireland Dermot Clohesy said the agency has set up a specific division to focus on attracting “these high-potential, high-growth companies to Ireland at an early stage of their development”.

“Ireland’s reputation as a location for fast-growing businesses to expand into international markets continues to grow,” he said. “We hope to have the next Amazon, Google and Oracle in this group of companies.”

Another IDA supported investment announced today was the opening of a new European software development centre for eReading platform company Kobo. The company has already created more than 30 positions for software developers which have now been filled.

Kobo also announced an exclusive partnership with Irish bookseller Eason which will mean the company’s catalogue of eBooks, devices and accessories will now be available to Irish customers.

    How in a story about a child that went missing in Japan did you manage to find some relevance to Enda Kenny? Do you honestly have nothing better to do?

    He wasn’t abandoned in a forest. Really misleading headline. You must might disagree with what he did, but at least try and be accurate with the circumstances.
