AN INVESTIGATION HAS been opened after a human body part was found in Co Meath.
Gardaí in Ashbourne, Co Meath are investigating the discovery of the human body part, which was found in open ground at the Mayne, Clonee, Co Meath.
It is understood the body part is an arm, and it was discovered by passersby at approximately 4.30pm today.
The area has since been sealed off and is being technically examined.
The body part is still at the scene and will be removed later to the morgue in Navan.
Gardaí said that searches will continue in the area at first light tomorrow morning.

I put up a bit of a joke because it’s Halloween but regretted it after it posted…. I don’t like over sensitive folks but….. You’re right – someone’s dead. It’s a tragedy for a family and I too sincerely hope it’s not that young girl from Kells!

Again, not being funny but…. How in the name of Jaysus, when you’ve only got the arm, can you tell it’s owners gender?
Size, muscles, hair, tattoos. They even have an idea who it may belong too. Its on the independent.ie website.
If the hand is attached to it, maybe the nails, rings or hair on back of hand/fingers might be a clue???.

Also, one can live after an arm is severed/extracted/amputated… Maybe the rest of him/her still lives!
You would think if that was the case they would need medical intervention or would die from shock and blood loss fairly quickly.

There are indeed plenty of stories on The Daily Edge and The Journal, wherein people can let loose their witticisms. There should be a post like yours at the start of every sensitive story…

Highly doubt it’s that young girl. Kells is a long way from Clonee. More than likely gangland related in West Dublin..
Kells is a stones throw from Ashbourne on the new motorway and……. They most probably weren’t walking…. Cars go fast these days. :-)

Well,educated guess there dead obviously, plus the fugitive joke is definitely not an articulate one and in such bad taste I’d question your own moral standards.
RTE have said that an arm was found and reported but that a search would have to wait until morning… So it’s just a case of something been reported to the guards and not verified by then yet.

It is indeed a sick world we live in. My poor taste joke doesn’t mean i lack in sympathy or empathy. My heartfelt sympathy to the family. And sorry if the joke offends.
Seriously, joking about this is really bad taste. Someone’s injured of dead…hands up I’d be the first to laugh generally but I find this not cool.
I have to hand it to the journal for removing all the insensitive comments, well handled guys!
Until the so called dept of justice lock up criminals this will only get worse, at the moment it’s chop off an arm get a slap on the wrist.
