Central Remedial Clinic's Santa Bear Appeal 2009 Sasko Lazarov/Photocall Ireland

Poll: Has the CRC scandal affected how you give to charity?

Has the scandal made you think twice about donating – or where you donate to?

A NUMBER OF reports from Central Remedial Clinic volunteers this morning have indicated that people are slow to support the organisation’s annual Santa bear appeal.

And earlier this week, another charity Bóthar revealed its staff had received hate mail in the wake of the revelations at the CRC. It also noted that donations had fallen.

Speaking this morning, PAC chairman John McGuinness urged the public to continue supporting vital charities, promising that reform in the sector is imminent.

Today, we’re asking: Has the CRC top-up scandal affected how you give to charity?

Poll Results:

Yes, I am more discerning about where I donate to (2337)
No (1717)
Yes, I have stopped donations (1028)
I never donated to charities (517)

How about a story on how the one of the postcode consortium winners actually just won a tender to deliver the Irish Water Grant.

Or how the remaining postcode tender winners have actually designed a second code because they know eircode is so crap it wont be used. The Plan B code is of course private but they used the €27,000,000 eircode tender to develop it.

A good postcode was proposed but changed to become a billing database for Irish Water.
