MICHAEL SCHUMACHER’S CONDITION has “improved slightly” according to doctors after a second “surgical intervention” on the former Formula One champion.
The operation was carried out after 10pm local-time last night after consultation between doctors at the Grenoble hospital and Schumacher’s family who remain at his bedside.
The two-hour procedure was carried out after doctors identified an “opportunity” to remove a blood clot in Schumacher’s brain.
The clot that was removed was described as the largest such hematoma but doctors stressed that there are more that are not accessible.
Following the operation a scan was carried out and the encouraging results were described by the chief doctor Professor Jean-Francois Payen at a press conference this morning as “unexpected”.
Payen says that there are “a few signs to believe that the situation is better controlled than it was yesterday”.
Despite this, the doctors cautioned that there are “unable to say that he is out of danger”.
We’re still concerned and we’re still worried, we cant say yet that we’ve won. We must be realistic, the family is aware of the situation, he is still in intensive care.
Schumacher’s condition is still being described as “critical” but Payen said that it was “not the same as yesterday”.
Doctors say that they will not be giving daily updates on Schumacher’s condition and will only be having another press conference if there is an update to give as was the case today.

Yeah mine too, I never really thought I gave a damn about Schumacher but now I’m really rooting for him to make it. An excellent champion and still so young. He’s a strong character so he has every chance.

Anyway, it’s great to hear that Schumacher is showing slight signs of improvement and hopefully he will make a full recovery.
The people who say oscar winning shit like my New Years wish is for Schumacher to get better (see comment above) are also looking for a reaction!!!…I see the same shit on FB!!! Social media has polluted the nation and world something serious, and it won’t all come out probably for a few years till Michael Moore or the likes does a documentary on it, everybody is changing their whole image etc so that other view them in a different Perspective cause let’s be honest all our live are now closely documented by others! I’v got girls from my home town changing their accent etc….it’s frisking crazy and that’s just hovering over the subject. Just to clarify I haven’t red thumbed anyone.

Faith and brain injury are a tricky couple that don’t always go hand in hand. Here’s hoping Schuey makes a full recovery. A word of advice however – if and when he wakes up – the real battle may only begin thing. I often remember Dr. Aine Carroll’s comments on the road safety adverts ‘there are things worse than death’ – hopefully Schumacher and his family don’t have to face this side of brain injury.
I agree. You see that young lad killed in Perth from similar trauma to the brain, Michael is very lucky to be alive atm if he was any normal joe I doubt he would be.
Some great fast acting emergency service was vital. Let’s hope he can pull through. He truly is a Legend of racing.
He will however most likely have a traumatic brain injury after this. He may survive but his brain will not be the same.
Unfortunately Richard he has a traumatic brain injury whatever way ye comes out of it. It’s a waiting game now to establish the severity which will be based on the length oh his amnesia (post traumatic amnesia) if and when he wakes up. Wishing him and his family all the best.
