HSE paid almost €230k to consultancy firms linked to former Health Board execs

Payments followed severance packages to those executives of almost half a million apiece.

CONSULTANCY FIRMS associated with three former Health Board chief executives have received payments of almost €230,000 from the HSE, according to a report today in the Medical Independent.

The three consultancy firms received the payments in 2007, 2008 and 2009, and they were paid for consultancy projects awarded by the HSE.

The payments were made within five years of those former executives receiving severance payments of around €500,000 each.

Ailbhe Jordan from the Medical Independent recently obtained figures under the Freedom of Information Act which showed that the HSE had to pay an average of €405,000 in severance to ten former CEOs.

Ballina is right to be proud as Ireland should be of a man who may be a son of Deleware and the USA but a son of Eireann too…what a welcome he will get when he returns as President

I hope that Mayo will be able to present Sam Maguire to President Joe Biden when he travels to his ancestral home while he is in office.
