A MAN ACTING as a ‘human cannonball’ was killed yesterday when a stunt went disastrously wrong.
The BBC reports that the man, who was 23 years of age, was taking part in a stunt at the Kent County Showground in the village of Detling in Maidstone when a safety net gave way.
The shocking incident took place in front of an audience of up to 2000 people on Monday afternoon during Scott May’s Daredevil Stunt Show.
According to witnesses, the man was launched up to 40ft in the air during the stunt.
One witness, Rob Hutchinson, told the BBC that he saw the man “hit the floor and bounce”, while another man said the safety net “seemed to collapse to the ground before he hit it”.
The police are investigating the incident.
