Cyclist dies after being knocked down on City West road

The man in his thirties was taken to Tallaght Hospital and a forensic examination is taking place at the scene of the incident.

A CYCLIST HAS died after being knocked down this evening in Dublin.

Gardaí at Rathcoole are investigating the fatal road traffic collision, which occurred on City West Road at Brownsbarn Roundabout, Saggart at approximately 5.20pm this evening.

They said that a male pedal cyclist in his late 30s was knocked to the ground during the incident. He was removed to Tallaght Hospital, where he later died. The road is closed while a forensic collision examination takes place.

Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses to the collision or who may have been in the area of City West Road between 5.20pm and 5.30pm this evening, or who may have any information, to contact them in Clondalkin Garda Station on 01 6667600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
