Drivers warned of 'extremely dangerous' conditions nationwide

Temperatures are expected to remain below zero overnight so take care and bundle up.

AA ROADWATCH IS warning drivers that “extreme caution” is required on roads across the country tonight as temperatures in some places drop below zero.

Temperatures are not expected to rise overnight and AA said “icy roads are countrywide”.

There was snow in certain areas earlier today and Met Éireann warned temperatures could reach -1.

Tomorrow ‘extremely windy or stormy weather’ will greet us all with some severe winds developing. There will be very heavy rain early on and there is a chance of spot flooding. The freezing temperatures are also expected to return tomorrow night.

Bundle up everyone.

Why, what happened ? What did you find dangerous? Bold summer tires, no experience or maybe just a dark cold wet winter night?

Lol Molly, I’ll have you know I’m lying in bed as we speak, herself snoring away, two large male dogs lying at the end of the bed, telly on to distract from the sound of my typing, happy 2 year old after shaking off her blankets and I’m worrying she may be cold now(i know that because I’m looking at her on the baby monitor as I type).

I’d reckon, technology aside or included, I’m describing my, and many other families round this country of ours right now. And I love having a happy family, as do they all in all.

Btw Molly. I too make a living via art (in my case music). Saw your posts elsewhere, and I know what you mean.

Cork and Kerry have had their weather status upgraded to code red, for high winds and heavy seas as of midnight.
We are getting frequent hail/snow/sleet in Clare. No winds to speak of as yet, but by morning, we won’t need an alarm clock.
