Woman "passed out at wheel, then ran over husband"

A Dallas woman was arrested after falling asleep at the wheel of her car and then running over her husband with her vehicle.

A DALLAS WOMAN was arrested on Tuesday after falling asleep at the wheel of her car and then running over her husband with her vehicle .

Police said that Mary Jane Lane, 50, passed out at a red light and then ran over her husband when he got out of the car to try and wake her up.

She has been charged with driving while intoxicated.

She was driving on the Northwest highway with her husband Randall, who was sitting in the passenger seat, when they reached an intersection at around 5pm.

She passed out – police say she was under the influence of drugs – and when Randall got out and went to the driver’s side door, where he attempted to unbuckle her seat belt, she woke up and pressed the accelerator.

Her husband was dragged down the road, breaking both his legs and injuring his head.

Mary Jane is currently being held in Dallas County Jail on $20,000 bail.
