IKEA IS RECALLING a range of bed canopies for children over concerns that they could strangle infants.
The company says that there has not been any permanent injuries reported from the canopies but they have received reports of the net being pulled into cots or beds and then becoming entangled around infants’ necks.
Customers who bought the canopies are being asked to bring them back to any IKEA store for a refund.
The affected products have been sold in all IKEA markets since 1996 and include a range of brands including the Legendarisk, Minnen and Barnslig.
In December of last year, IKEA issued a similar warning to parents who purchased a SMILA wall mounted lamp that the product may present a strangulation hazard to infants and young children after the death of a young child.

Dept of Foreign Affairs is kind of late to the party with that advice. The east coast airports are closed. People couldn’t travel even of they wanted to.
The first paragraph does not make sense because you won’t be able to travel to the US. All flights are cancelled to the north east.
To be fair, the advice is also intended for people who aren’t necessarily travelling directly from Ireland.

No, but like I said, if you’re not currently in Ireland and happened to be, say, elsewhere in the USA, perhaps you were intending to drive to the north-east?
People need to be told this? Anyone likely to look to see probably already has a fair idea of what’s going on there,
You’d be surprised (maybe not) at the stupidity of some people still.
