Council stresses that Dublin Fire Brigade ambulance review has not been suspended

Instead, the results of the separate National Ambulance Service Review will be taken into account.

DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL has moved to clarify that a review of the ambulance service provided by Dublin Fire Brigade (DFB) has not been deferred.

A statement from the council stressed that it will instead take into account a separate review of the National Ambulance Service provided by the HSE, in the context of Dublin.

“This may extend the original timeframe envisaged for the Dublin Emergency Ambulance Review,” the statement added.

Hundreds of DFB firefighters marched through the city yesterday evening as part of a demonstration organised by unions SIPTU and IMPACT.

SIPTU last night welcomed the review being deferred, however the HSE denied that this was the case.

Under the planned review, the size of the ambulance fleet will be assessed, as well as factors such as compliance with national quality standards, the cost of the current service provision, and how emergency calls are handled.

The review could potentially result in a change to the current model of service provision.

How about extending Breast and Bowel Screening Tests to over 70′s? That would be a real benefit and an end to age discrimination in those areas.

Address the huge cost of attending hospital appointments, and having to use and pay for the car parks.
The HSE have contracted the car park facilities out so that they don’t have to deal directly with the clients.
