A UK-WIDE search has been launched after five chihuahuas including a Crufts winner were stolen from a house in the English village of Lisset.
Police in Yorkshire say that the owners of the dogs are “desperate to find them” after intruders broke into their house on Thursday afternoon and stole the prize puppies.
Officers believe that the dog snatchers may have used a wicker basket to take the animals away from the house. A Nikon D3200 camera and lenses were also taken during the burglary.
One of the five chihuahuas taken was ‘Xena’ who recently won Best Puppy in Breed at the Crufts 2014 dog show under the show name ‘Valenchino Made of Candy’.
“These dogs need to be reunited with their owner and police are appealing for anyone who knows anything to contact them immediately so that we can have a happy ending to this story,” Humberside Police said in a statement.
Mal Hilton, who owns the dogs along with his partner Lucy, told ITV News that they had been inundated with calls about the animals.
“People are just ringing left, right and centre and saying ‘we’re here to help’. We want all the help we can, we want these dogs back before they get hurt.” Mal said.
“This dog is famous worldwide, we’ve had calls from people in Japan asking after them.”

@GClare: Allowing less traffic to drive from the beach road into irishtown and ringsend will cause backlog all through irishtown and ringsend? I don’t think you’ve thought this complaint through.
@GClare: No port-traffic HGVs use Strand Road, the Port Tunnel was built to direct them away from there, and from the Liffey Quays. The trucks on Strand Road are local traffic, not (directly) affected by Brexit.
Will affect anyone living or working around the IFSC/docks area or living near/using the M50 or any other motorway near any of the ports.

Just pull the plug on the UK and when they sink which they will, then we can sail right across to continental Europe in a straight line, any port, just pick one, there’s lots to choose from….. A friend was just sayin’.. ehh!! Just sayin’.
Just a suggestion, but I think we’ll see an increase in UK haulage through Ireland via Northern Ireland as they try to circumvent tariffs so would it be realistic to suggest that Irish haulage takes precedence over Uk haulage or is that too unreasonable?
