Open Thread: Are you Irish and living abroad? What would you like the government to do for you?

Give us your wishlist.

GETTING THE VOTE? Sorting out documentation in the US? Getting Tayto into more corners of the world?

The government is continuing to receive submissions for its formally titled, Review of Ireland’s Engagement with the Diaspora.

“We want to hear from all of the Irish overseas,” Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore said, in a statement launching the initiative.

As we celebrate a long weekend, many families are missing their loved ones who have emigrated to the UK, Canada, Australia and other far-off lands.

If you are Irish but living abroad, we’d like to know what is on your wishlist.

Let us know in the comments below and if you want to formalise your suggestions, make them here.

    Exactly!
Perhaps an app that identified cartels and crony/mercantilist state policies might be of more benefit to beef farmers.
