LG releases smart fridge, oven and washing machine you can chat with

By using the messaging app Line, owners can check to see what’s in their fridge remotely or get recipe suggestions while they’re on the go.

LG HAS RELEASED its first batch of smart appliances in its home of South Korea, allowing owners to chat with them using their smartphone.

Using the messaging app Line – which has more than 400 million registered users – users can control them and get updates while you’re away from your house.

The range of smart appliances which offer this functionality include a fridge with a built-in camera, allowing you to check what’s in there if you’re out of the house, as well as keeping track of expiration dates and recommend meal options based on what’s currently stored.

Other smart devices include a washing machine which lets you start or check its progress by texting it, and an oven which can recommend recipes for dishes and sets the temperature and cooking time automatically.

The devices use a Health Manager which can make daily and weekly meal plans based on a user’s personal profile. Details like sex, age, weight and height are used to determine a person’s body mass index (BMI), which is then used to create a personalised meal plan.

Currently, the service is only available in Korea, but LG says it has plans to introduce the service to other markets in the future.

What a huge loss she is to Cathal and her husband. I was always perplexed as to why she put herself in danger but i guess Cathal has given me that answer in that she wanted Ireland to be a safer place. I genuinely believe that. But she has left a huge legacy and she wont be forgotten.

Cathal she is not a victim but a brave woman who absolutely was a hero. She went up against the gangsters and low lives of this country and was much braver than any journalist today. Unfortunately you and her paid the highest price but she will be remembered as a true patriot and they won’t be remembered at all. No doubt she would be proud of you.

A very healthy statement against an appalling crime. Commendable.
