Did this Australian minister drop the C-word?

Yes, the really bad one.

IRISH POLITICIANS ARE not allowed use a raft of ‘bad words’, including brat, chancer, gurrier and communist.

In Leinster House, such terms are considered ‘unparliamentary language’.

So what would those in the Dáil chamber think about Christopher Pyne’s recent outburst during Question Time with the Education Minister?

Australians have taken to Twitter and Facebook to discuss one very important question – did the Minister use the c-word?

Pyne, who has just announced controversial higher education reforms, denies using the really bad word. He says he simply called Bill Shorten a ‘grub’.

The attack began:

He will have to stop being the No 1 whinger in Australia. He will have to start having solutions rather than being all complaint and no responsibility.

“If No 1 whinger in Australia were a reality TV show, there would be no point in any other contestant entering it – because if Bill Shorten entered it, he would win it! But on Thursday night the leader of the opposition has an opportunity.”

Before uttering the disputed word, he was reprimanded by the manager of opposition business for calling the leader ‘Bill Shorten’ instead of his official title, ‘Opposition Leader’.

After the four-letter word was heard, the Speaker then asked Pyne to “refer to people by their correct name”.

The Sydney Morning Herald recalls the term ‘grub’ being used in parliament in the recent past.

Former Prime Minister Julia Gillard got herself into hot water by describing an opposition spokesperson as a “snivelling grub”.

On being called up on it, she told the Speaker: ”If I have offended grubs, I withdraw unconditionally”.

She soon found herself thrown out of parliament for 24 hours for defying a request for an unconditional backdown.

Hat tip to Jenny Hislop for bringing this one to our attention.

FG were happy to pay the bondholders quicker than the unfortunate victims of church abuse. They’re chasing the victims of sexual abuse in schools through the courts to avoid paying compensation. FG hope people die off quickly its cheaper.

@Dave Doyle: ‘Victims of the Church’, Church people inflected harm on these poor girls Entrusted to them with their care. Church used them as Slave workers for life, whilst getting paid from the State to care for them. Church people inflected cruelty and benefited from the girls imprisonment , those ‘Nuns’ have rode off into the ‘Sunset’ with the Millions they made, pretending it was all for their God.!!

Won’t be nothing done. It’s all Brexit and the children’s hospital, even the homeless football doesn’t get a kick now. All this jetting off to Brussels and London is a complete waste of money. The EU will decide it at the end of the day and our elected muppets will go along with whatever they say and if we don’t like it we’ll then they’ll just ask us a second time and then we’ll accept it JUST LIKE BEFORE!

@Pixie McMullen: Well its all being excepted, where’s the ‘Outcry’. As the priest in America said when Raping a young girl: ‘If god didn’t want this to happen he’d stop it’. The clergy reason that it’s the Body that’s sinning, but the ‘Soul’ is saved, their warped thinking contributes to their sickening behavior.!

As much as I dislike FG and what they are doing to our country it should be the Catholic church paying this money, Not us.

I’m never a fan of giving money to people from taxes. But give it a rest already. The Catholic Church will never ever pay out money. Give those women the compensation they deserve, and stand up Ireland for the principles we should espouse.
