The Daily PollTHE OIREACHTAS WILL today discuss plans to set up a new DNA database in Ireland.
The new bill is expected to compel people convicted of the most serious crimes – including murder and sex offences – to provide their DNA for the database in a bid to solve crimes and identity perpetrators.
However some civil liberties groups have raised concerns about the retention of information.
What do you think? Is a DNA database for criminals a good idea?

I thought it was good for a company that has a very small time frame every year to harvest.

I’d say the board had a good aul moan. ;-/
Well at least they’re scooping out the middle of Ireland and flogging it to the UK for their gardens and all that will be left is a great big brown swimming pool for further Irish heatwaves and bog snorkeling. They should have to subsidise compulsory swimming lessons on the national curriculum in exchange for the turf.
