200 jobs up for grabs as Ryanair launches digital lab

The 200 roles will cover areas like software development, marketing and innovation hackers, which will aim to develop the next generation of apps and services.

RYANAIR IS LOOKING to recruit 200 new staff as it aims to create the next generation of online and mobile travel services.

The new roles are part of the company new digital and IT innovation hub, Ryanair Labs, which is located in Swords.

The positions will cover areas such as analytics and data, software development, software testing, media and marketing and user experience design.

A particular focus will be placed on developing mobile products, especially native apps, and will also include roles for three “innovation hackers,” which will consist of a small team of graduates that will pitch and develop ideas which could form the basis for future apps and services.

The company didn’t rule out the chances of additional members being added to this team as they begin the recruitment process. When asked about it, a spokesperson said that such an expansion could “possibly” happen.

When its campus in Swords was officially opened in April, it announced that the 1000,000 sq.ft campus would be used to help develop the company’s digital presence and would be on top of the 500 new roles for pilots, engineers and cabin crew that it will create across Europe in 2014. It also launched its new site on the same day.

More than eight million people visit Ryanair’s site every month, according to the company’s website. The company is aiming to have all positions filled by December.

this is why you need profitable companies with capital to reinvest and innovate and not zombie jobs for the boys state bodies.

It’s nice to see Ryanair openly looking for recent graduates.

It would be nice to be able to use an app instead of a printed boarding pass.

Yes, exactly, I believe British Airways have a very nice version of this for iOS.

I always print 2 copies of my boarding pass (stored seperately) for fear of losing one. Having an app/service similar to British Airways would be one less thing to worry about.

Would you not need to get two smart phones then David? Seems way more complicated than printing two boarding passes?

You don’t need to print your boarding pass. I recently scanned in by displaying the code in the PDF on my phone. Worked perfectly and I saved a tree.

May I ask what airport you were flying from Dave? Did the worker at the gate, or the air hostess have an issue with it? I’ve noticed that if you’re checking in bags they affix a tag to your boarding pass.

1 in 5 don’t make a living wage. 80 per cent of Ryanair staff don’t make a living wage more like. Miserable unpaid, unhelpful women mostly from the former USSR where customer service was as encouraged as much as capitalism.

Why is this in the news again?
It was originally from April but ryanair couldn’t fill the positions because of poor terms and conditions.
They will say the pay is the best in the country, just like they said their crew are some of the best paid in Europe, which is a complete lie.
