A BELGIAN MAN had to be rescued after slipping and falling at a waterfall.
Both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and the Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by an Garda Síochána to respond after the man had slipped and fallen at Glenmacnass Waterfall.
The rescuers discovered that the man had not only fallen, but also landed on steep ground.
“Once technical personnel reached him, they took measures to secure him so as to ensure he would not fall any further,” they said.
When they got to him, he was treated by medics from both mountain rescue and Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 116 for injuries he had sustained during the fall.
The injured man was then airlifted to hospital for further care.
