Man brought to hospital by helicopter after falling from cliffs

It happened at around midday today.

A MAN HAS been rescued and brought to hospital by helicopter after falling from cliffs near Power Head.

The young man has multiple injuries after the fall.

Gyleen Coast Guard, Crosshaven RNLI and Rescue 117 treated the casualty.

It happened at around midday.

Rescue 117 requested the lifeboat to evacuate the casualty by sea followed by a winch, but this was deemed too dangerous.

The casualty was eventually transferred directly to the helicopter and brought to Cork University Hospital.
