IT’S A SUNDAY afternoon. We’re all tired.
So here’s a new photograph of Prince George, the child of Prince William and Catherine Middleton, ahead of his first birthday.
The official photograph was released to celebrate the fact that he will celebrate his birthday on Tuesday and already manages to look good in dungarees. It was taken a few days ago at at London’s Natural History Museum.
His parents are apparently planning a birthday party at Kensington Palace for Tuesday.
We’re not invited, so we’re not going to talk about this any further.

Regina Doherty personally conducted the survey. Participants were told that favorable replies were mandatory but not compulsory.

Personally I have no problem with it. Why would you object to a means to tackle fraud?

@The long walk home☘️: I have no objection to tackling fraud, if by tackling fraud you meant identifying individual fraudsters after they have committed fraud. I’m okay with updating cards and reviewing mistakes and learning how to do better.
Presumably the staff who issued large overpayments in error will now possess PSC cards, so that can’t happen twice? Also, the man who sold confidential information to various private detective agencies? Has he been given a new PSC card to help him to do a better job now?

This country needs a National ID Card for all legal residents. The PSC fits the bill.
@sean o’dhubhghaill: A national ID card may be required, it’s debatable. But what the country doesn’t need is a Biometric National ID card being forced on people and called by another name. A card that has no legislation, no debate, no private and personal data protection. A card introduced for the very same reason the Indian Aadhar Card was introduced for. Yet the Aadhar card is being abused by the Indian government, it bears no relation to it’s original stated intention, is invasive in the extreme, puts every citizen under draconian surveillance. The PSC is open to the same abuse, has been abused, and is heading down the same road as the Aadhar card.
@Dave Doyle: Get a life. The card is biometric only by virtue of the fact that it has a photograph.
You data is protected. One time I went to the Local Welfare Office to order a letter from the Pensions office in Sligo. What I wanted was to have the guy behind the counter access my file download it and print the letter.
He was denied access and I had to go through the process of phoning Sligo myself and getting the letter sent out.
So to say you data is not protected is nonsconce.

People saying this card will help reduce Fraud…….people are aware that the lie about huge welfare fraud, peddled by prince vanity socks was pretty much debunked as untrue, so while this is being pushed through by people who have clearly shown they can’t manage a project to build a hospital, yet we are to trust them with personal information and hope, they dont decide to sell it on when a brown envelope is dangled in front of them, or someone leaves a laptop on a bus with information on it, which has happened before. The card isn’t the issue its what’s behind it and making sure the organ grinder monkeys in charge of our personal information are capable of looking after it is what I’m more worried about

Combats fraud, makes it easier to confirm your own identity when dealing with Govt agencies so hardly surprising the majority of law abiding citizens agree with it

I’ve actually never heard anyone I know complain about it. Not saying it is some dream process or it isn’t a bit weird the way it’s being rolled out but it certainly isn’t something most people care about.
I rescheduled a couple of appointments to get the PSC as I was working overtime and couldn’t get to the office before it closed and the lady told me that I shouldn’t be delaying getting it as I get children’s allowance right? and I could lose that if I didn’t get my act together.. so I was threatened with it being stopped.. I only have the one kid, not 10.. and work a 40hr week.. I was so mad about it and still am…
@Lucille Ball: spot on. My wife was threatened a few times that the children’s allowance would be stopped if she didn’t get the card. She eventually had to take a half day off work which she was docked for. It’s no wonder FG have links in the past to the Nazis

I got my drivers licence renewed online and as my identity had been confirmed with my PSC card, it was really easy, arrived in the post a couple of days later

PSC card’s are just a way to get every bit of information on every activity on every aspect of your life by the political establishment they are working to get mandatory I. D talk about the Ntasi in East Germany need I explain anymore
They must have used the same weighted voting system that they used for their own party leadership contest, ie: their own votes count for a lot more than everybody elses.

Surely if the Data Protection commissioner is still investigating,then the processing the PSC cards should be put on hold until the results of the investigation have been produced. I have never been on welfare and never been eligible for any welfare payments, I got my driving license by going through the usual test and paperwork without a PSC card. I have received no more than three request for me to attend a welfare office to be processed for a PSC card when I have received nor have I claimed anything from the state. And i have a concern about who what and where will have access to my information, how it will be used and how will it be secured.
Bullshit. Reveal what they are hiding.
People don’t even know what formation these cards have on you you haven’t got a clue how much they tell about you reminds me of East Germany secret police Stasi
