SAMSUNG’S ANSWER TO iOS, Android and Windows Phone has suffered a setback as the launch of its first Tizen smartphone has been postponed.
In a brief statement, Samsung said it would be delaying the release of the Samsung Z in Russia so it could ‘further enhance [the] Tizen ecosystem.’
The smartphone was originally supposed to launch in the third quarter of this year, but the company didn’t offer details about when the smartphone would be released, or its plans for the OS.
Tizen is Samsung’s attempt to break away from its dependence on Google Android, which is used in the majority of its smartphones and only allows it to make cosmetic changes to the OS.
While having its own OS would give Samsung more control over most activity that takes place on users’ smartphones, it would also allow it to generate revenue directly through app sales and purchases, something that Apple, Google and Microsoft have control over.
However, the Samsung Z and Tizen OS has seen a number of delays, and was originally supposed to be launched at a Tizen event for developers in Russia earlier this month before it was put on hold.
Samsung sees the Tizen platform being used in a wide range of devices such as smartwatches, televisions and cameras. It also sees the OS allowing different devices to communicate with one another in the future.

I know all too well just how contrived the whole subculture is and that it is creating a severe disconnect with individual and their terrestrial and solar system surroundings. Identifying what went wrong gave rise to the awful scientific method modelling at the expense of astronomy.
