Woman charged over attempt to identify people under PSNI witness protection

The 32-year-old woman worked for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.

OFFICERS FROM THE PSNI’s serious crime branch have charged a 32-year-old woman with collecting information likely to be useful to terrorists and misconduct in public office.

The woman was arrested yesterday in Belfast and worked for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.

The charges relate to information she allegedly obtained during her work in an attempt to identify people who are under the PSNI’s witness protection scheme.

Under the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005, it is an offence to disclose the identities of people who are subject to protection arrangements.

She will appear at Laganside Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

A second woman, 28, who was also arrested yesterday has been released pending further inquiries.

You think she was forced to do it because she is a woman. Women are good men are bad.

Paperboy – That’s just a sexist feminist mentality where you perceive women as being the victim in situations where you would probably not think the same thing if it involved a man. Not trying to condemn you, just pointing it out.

@Reagan. I would presume the same even if it was a man! There was nothing sexist about what I was saying…

There’s also the possibility that she was doing it of her own free will, and not for monetary gain.

Many people in these situations are ‘forced’ be it men or women. Most people don’t do it for the laugh……..

Gender is irrelevant, men are as likely as women to be coerced into aiding criminals. Paperboy’s original comment isn’t sexist, he didn’t say she was forced BECAUSE she’s a woman.. But don’t let a little thing like context get in the way of a good shriek of self-indulgent moral outrage.. And paperboy, you were doing so well until the “typical blonde” remark… Hoist by your own petard!

Now, now paperboy! No need to get personal ;) I think it might be safe to assume she’ll be playing the ‘she was forced’ card regardless.

I recall the current Louth TD telling us that “they haven’t gone away you know”. They certainly haven’t. This is probably part of intelligence gathering by Gerry and Co. or dissident republicans to locate informers now living in England.

By the way, now that you have Gerry, please keep him as we do not want him back. We have enough idiots without him. The Israelis must be quaking in their boots now that the Dail has been recalled. Might as well recall the Boy Scouts!

Gerry did tell us he was still active, outside Belfast City Hall if my recollection is correct.

All will be revealed tomorrow when she appears in court. My assumption that she is most likely a Republican is partly based on the fact that loyalists are too busy being racist towards foreign nationals. If I am wrong ( doesn’t happen often) my apologies.
