Tweeting dog survives 90-metre plunge into the Atlantic

Vimes is now home recovering from his big day.

A DOG WHO has a Twitter account was rescued after falling into the Atlantic yesterday.

Vimes the dog went off the cliff in Clare yesterday, with the alarm being raised around 3.30pm.

An Irish Coast Guard unit from Kilkee was dispatched and happily was able to rescue Vimes from the water, and he was soon well enough to tweet to thank his rescuers.

He also let people know that he was doing just fine.

That Twitter account is a scam. Dogs can’t type.

I have been in Vimes company on many an occasion. A nicer chap you couldn’t not meet. As he said himself ‘it wasn’t the drop that worried him, t’was the slap off the sea!’ Glad to see you safe and sound buddy!

No posts yet about the ridiculous cost involved in having the coast guard called out to rescue a mutt? How many asylum seekers could get direct provision for that? How many needles could be provided to junkies? How many lifestyly choice terminations have been stopped?

Can’t believe the coast guard went to rescue a dog. I like dogs and all, but what if somebody drowned because the coast guard was rescuing a dog, or worse still, one of the crew was injured or killed rescuing that dog? Insanity!

What if Vimes had drowned when the Coast Guard was trying to rescue some stupid human?

Perhaps your inability to recognize the sanctity of ALL life is where the “insanity” comes in.
