Thousands of Iraqis flee ISIS militants in panic as France calls 'urgent' UNSC meeting

The situation for Iraqis in the north-west of their country ” is becoming increasingly dire” according to an Amnesty adviser in the area.

TENS OF THOUSANDS of people are reportedly fleeing in panic from advancing ISIS militants in north-western Iraq.

Amnesty International’s senior crisis response adviser Donatella Rovera, currently in northern Iraq, says taht while thousands have fled the Christian city of Qaraqosh in response to ISIS’s arrival overnight, others have been trapped in the town.

“The situation for Iraqis in the north-west of the country, especially those from the Yezidi and Christian minority communities, is becoming increasingly dire as both residents and many of those already displaced are now fleeing their homes and places of shelter,” Rovera said today.

The Amnesty adviser said thousands of Iraqis from minority religions and groups are fleeing in terror of advancing ISIS fighters:

I met a man yesterday in al-Qosh, a Christian town, who for weeks has been working hard to provide shelter and assistance to displaced people – Christians, Yezidis and other minorities who had fled their homes in the recent days and weeks amid ISIS assaults.

Today he and his family have themselves become displaced. He broke down in tears as he told me that last night he and his family fled with only the clothes on their backs – with not even time to take their documents. ISIS is now in the town.

‘Urgent UNSC meeting’

France’s foreign minister has called for an urgent UN Security Council meeting over the crisis in Iraq.

“France is very deeply concerned by the latest advances of (IS militants) in the north of Iraq and the taking of Qaraqosh, the biggest Christian city in Iraq, as well as by the intolerable abuses that were committed,” Laurent Fabius said today in a statement.

“Given the seriousness of the situation – the first victims of which are civilians and religious minorities – France is requesting an urgent meeting of the Security Council so the international community can mobilise to counter the terrorist threat in Iraq and support and protect the population at risk.”

Turkish officials said today that up to 800 people from Iraq’s Yazidi community have fled across the border and into Turkey after escaping attack by jihadists from the IS group.

The Yazidi are a closed community that follows an ancient faith rooted in Zoroastrianism and are scorned by jihadists as “devil worshippers”, a term the Yazidi themselves angrily contest.

16 minutes in and only 6 comments. The Journal somehow has to find a way to insert the words ‘Palestine’ and ‘Israel’ when they post these articles. Christians and Yazidis being exterminated from Iraq, by Islamic nutjobs is not hipster enough, these days to attract the same level of attention.

America turning its back on the Shah of Iran allowing that homicidal maniac of a religious fanatic the Ayatollah Khomeini to wrestle power is the reason savages like ISIS are around today.
Even Ronald Reagan apologised for Americas treatment of their staunch ally the Shah during that tumultuous time.

The dictators in the region largely kept the Jihad fanatics well in check.
The Shah might not have been a saint but as dictators go in that region he was almost an angel in comparison.

Khomeini killed more people in Iran in 3 months than the Shah did in 30 years., his Islamic revolution spread like wildfire around the Middle East, Afghanistan, Chechnya etc, even moderate Turkey has a hardliner in power today, thankfully the Egyptian military acted quickly to oust Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood, but the dormant volcano has well and truly been awakened and is spreading its evil claws all over not just the Middle East but Europe and North America too, time for some radical action before its far too late!.

We hanged the NAZI leadership for ”the commission of a war of aggression”

Most think it was the concentration camps but the first conviction for Genocide was not until the 1990s, and while they were charged with ”crimes against humanity” and violation of the laws of war the focus of the Nuremberg trials were on the waging of a war of aggression.

That’s why the US didn’t ratify the ICC.
They knew every president would wind up in front of it.

Think back, who was the last US president that didn’t continue or start a war.

    http://time.com/2992269/isis-is-an-american-plot-says-iran/

“The IRNA story appears to build on, or may have even started, an Internet rumor that has assumed truthlike proportions through multiple reposts and links. No mention of a “hornet’s nest” plot can be found in Snowden’s leaked trove of U.S. intelligence documents, and even though Snowden has not publicly refuted the claim, it is safe to assume that the quoted interview never took place. (IRNA has been known to report stories from the satirical Onion newspaper as fact.) Yet Iranian government officials and independent analysts in Iran alike cited IRNA’s report as definitive proof of ISIS’s American and Israeli origins.”

It’s ok Ciaran, he’s getting his information from GlobalResearch which we are told is a “more reliable source than the Onion”. You see Jews are running the world and 2 Jewish families apparently orchestrate everything, the Rothschilds and the Bildrerbergs, jeez they must be extraordinarily busy right now. All governments are just puppets it seems and even Jihadi’s are controlled by the Jews as well.

If you connect enough dots and take enough leaps of faith, anything is possible. The same hysteria swept through Germany in the 1930′s and we all know how that turned out, except for Iran, they know the “truth”.

You are either blessed with this gift of faith or not. Seem you and I don’t believe everything we read and don’t take sides.

The problems occur when Christians start preaching and trying to convert others In Iran, this is considered an offense..

BTW… Iran has the second-largest community of Jews in the Middle East.

The allegation that Mossad colluded with ISIS is an Internet rumour. Did you not read the link to the Time Magazine online article that I posted? Why would Israel support an organisation that hates Jews?! Furthermore, the US government supports only the non-extremist rebels in Syria, not Jabhat al-Nusra, which is an Al-Qaeda affiliate and thus an enemy of the US, or ISIS, which is also an enemy of the US.

Ciaran when the us armed the rebels they armed everyone except al qaeda affilliated groups. The main group behind isis went to war and defeated some of the larger non extremist groups with the result that many of the others joined isil as it was known bringing the weapons supplied by the us with them. Isis now is not just one group but many of the smaller groups that rose up against assad. The mossad have done before and are still providing intelligence to the rebels and the iaf have carried out bombinhg raids on syrian army positions. Israel have no problem with helping isis at thevmoment if it helps keeping assads forces on the back foot especially when it also keeps hezbollah and iran also on the back foot. Dont believe for a minute that israel care about the damage isis are inflicting on civillians for if helping isis is damaging israels enemies then they will feel justified in doing so. When the time comes however when isis turns its ire towards israel then and only then will israel turn on them.

Send in the SAS they will wipe these rats off the face of the earth. There’s no point in a large scale invasion. Let the SAS do what they were made to do end life’s. Fight fire with an even bigger fire. It’s time to show Isis that you will kill them all if they don’t stop killing innocent people. Action is what’s needed here not words. Talking is a load of bollix take action

Steven Hillert …….. Bassar Al Assad would do a better job than the SAS

His army has been fighting them for several years before they defected to Iraq.

good point though, if you took all the nato or un countries special forces and combined them, you would have several thousand of the most dangerous people who have ever lived, no standing army, militia or armed group in existence would last the time it takes to pi$$ themselves in the face of that. would be over in a week. more potent and precise than any bombing campaign. shame western countries are more concerned about the lives of their soldiers than the lives of children.
