GARDAÍ HAVE CANCELLED the child rescue alert for two-year-old Hassan Khan.
Both Hassan and his father Saleem Khan (61) have been found safe and well.
Gardaí say they now request that the privacy of the Khan family is respected.
The alert was made just after 7pm after both were last seen at about 3.45 pm in Ballybrack village.
Gardaí released a description of both Hassan and Saleem as well as the details of the car the were believed to be travelling in.

The alerts were displayed on the motorway network as well on electronic displays at train and dart stations.
The gardaí’s child rescue app also showed details of the alert for the two-year-old.
Gardaí say they would like to thank all members of the public for their assistance.

I think most fiats have the strange ability to propel themselves from one place to another, with Ireland being a small island, I think the whole country should be on look out.

CRI Alert
Gardaí are seeking the public’s assistance in tracing the whereabouts of two and a half year old Hassan Khan, Ballybrack, Dublin.
It is believed that Hassan is in the company of his father, Saleem Khan, 61 years, also known as Mohamed Saleem Khan, of Ballybrack, Dublin. They were last seen at approximately 3.45pm today Sunday 10th August 2014 in Ballybrack Village.
Saleem Khan is described as 5’7’’, of average build with a black beard, (image shows him with a white beard).
It is believed Saleem and Hassan are travelling in a red Fiat Idea registered number 05 D 62779.
Anyone with information is asked to dial 999 or 112.
Please do not approach those involved, instead immediately dial 999 or 112.

Has no one heard of Call Forwarding for that number that is not manned 7*24 ?
The Garda Confidential line is for non-emergencies, so why would it make sense to forward the call to 999 to tie up their line?!
Not necessarily to 999, just forward to any other number (say 112) that is not dedicated to emergencies. Having any number to a police service that is not ‘manned’ at all times is unusual.
PS I assume all ports on the island are on alert for this car (not the license plate only.. easily swapped out)..

Jesus Christ, what difference does it make about why the Gardaí are looking for them? They are and that’s that!!! Just check around you people and if you come across the car/;man and child ring the bloody Gardia. Its not rocket science. Why are ye trying to guess whats happened, they need the publics help in locating a child so HELP THEM !!

The most important piece of information is that there is a 2 yr old child missing or possibly at some sort of risk. Forget worrying about how badly written the article is and keep an eye for the car if you are out and about

This early warning system was put in to allow speed in requesting help from the public. It is better to request the help straight away and then follow up with detail as it becomes available.

Gardai are also interested in the whereabouts of someone who did something and left the scene on feet or in a car and witnesses say the person definitely did said thing. More to follow. All information appreciated!

Then we read a comment which gives far more detail than the article.

Seriously? Is it not more important to get the info out asap and add detail when it becomes available? If it was my kid is be delighted to have ANY sort of info out there to make people aware, instead of hanging around while I find a recent photo of each, try and remember their heights and find the piece of paper with my husband’s car reg on it.

It says that it was a rushed article in order to reach the public as fast as possible. As a mother, I’d be fine with that if it was my kid. The Journal can update their articles, not like print, and often do.
So, yes, get a grip. Your reality might involve superior journalism. My reality involves worrying about the welfare of a child.

For such a serious article a bit more detail would be appreciated.
The CRI alert was put in place so Gardai can get the initial details out on media and on motorways. Then the full statement is released so articles can be updated. It’s not shoddy journalism, it’s getting the info out as quickly as possible at the request of the Gardai
But why actually they want to rescue the kid from his father? Does anyone know what is going on here?
