75,000 CAO offers to be made today

Ah, the memories…

TODAY IS THE day for tens of thousands of prospective college students.

Today is the day that the Central Applications Office (CAO) sends out offers to over 50,000 applicants.

CAO Applicants can check to see if they have received an offer by going online at www.cao.ie and logging on to their account using the ‘My Application’ facility from 6am.

Successful applicants will also receive an offer notification via e-mail and SMS text if they have selected this option on their application form.

Applicants who do not receive an offer can check the ‘Available Place’ facility which re-opens on CAO website tomorrow at noon.

This year, the CAO has issued 74,013 Round One Offers to 50,848 CAO applicants.

These consist of 39,398 Level 8 course offers and 34,615 Level 7/6 course offers.

74013 Round One Offers to 50848 CAO Applicants. These offers consist of 39398 Level 8 course offers and 34615 Level 7/6 course offers.

General Manager of CAO, Joe O’Grady, asks applicants to carefully check all CAO Correspondence at this crucial stage in the application process.

“It is extremely important that applicants notify CAO immediately if there are any errors or omissions in any of the correspondence that they receive from CAO. They must make sure to do this well in advance of the next offer round to allow any corrections to be considered in subsequent offer rounds”.

The National Parents Council has an exam helpline, manned by experts from the Institute of Guidance Counsellors and a member of SUSI, the student grant body, from 8am to 7pm today. The number is 1800 265 165. It is also open tomorrow,  from 8am to 7pm, and Wednesday, from 8am to 1pm.
