Two-year-old Irish boy drowns in Spanish swimming pool

It’s believed the child fell from a wall into a neighbour’s pool.

A TWO-YEAR-OLD Irish boy has drowned in a swimming pool in Spain.

It’s believed that the little boy died after falling off a wall into a neighbour’s pool at around 10:45 local time this morning.

A Spanish news site, the olive press, report that while nobody saw the drowning, police and the boy’s parents suspect he lost his balance and fell.

The father found the son and called police but the child had died by the time the police arrived.

The neighbours reported that they were home but did not see or hear anything.

It happened in an area called Mijas Costa on Spain’s Costa del Sol.

The Department of Foreign Affairs told TheJournal.ie that they are aware of reports but haven’t been contacted for assistance.

Thumbs down are probably accidental by people using the App.

Big thumbs and smartphones are not a great mix.

I’d like to set a few people straight! I am a friend of the childs parents and knew the little boy. Their house is surrounded by a terrace with walls all around you would never think a child would possibly climb over the wall and get into their neighbours house below. As every honest parent would say we have all left our children for a minute or too to walk into another room./ nip inside to grab a drink ect his dad aswell as anyone else thought he was perfectly safe and left him for a few minutes. His mum was working may I ad too! When his dad came back out to find he was missing he was distraught he instantly asked people to help him. When he spotted his son he jumped from his house to the pool breaking his leg and ankle to try and save his little boy so anyone that comments saying this is like the madeline mccan story let me tell you it is far from it! I am a mother myself of a 4 year old little boy and my heart aches thinking about his parents feelings. Nobody could ever know how it feels unless it has happened to them! Rest in peace darling baby boy you are with the angels in the sky now. Sleep tight xxxx
