Facebook is going to get a 'Buy' button soon, and it's being powered by Stripe

The company, which is designed to make online credit card payments simple for developers, is

FACEBOOK’S BUY BUTTON, which it’s been testing since early July, has received a boost as payments company Stripe is now powering the technology behind it.

The company, which was founded by Limerick brothers John and Patrick Collison, is supporting the button and is the sole provider for the service, according to Re/Code.

The ‘Buy’ button is still very much in beta, but it isn’t the first time that Stripe has partnered with Facebook before.

Last year, the two joined forces on a separate project that allowed Facebook users to autofill their payment information from Facebook when using third-party apps. The site also had Braintree, PayPal’s own mobile payments service, as a partner for this project.

The new partnership means that Stripe has a number of deals with the biggest names in technology. On top of the Facebook partnership, it also struck a deal with Twitter to power its own buy button and was one of the first services to be used for Apple Pay, the company’s new mobile payments system that was unveiled earlier this month.

At the beginning of the year, the company raised €59 million giving it a value of €1.3 billion.

I don’t. Without it I’d lose contact with so many of my friends who live scattered around the world. What I’d prefer is if Facebook fixed what they have and if people used it correctly rather than asking for game coins or posting up pictures of their dinners.

I will agree with you on that. It’s the stupidness of what people do on it that annoys me and the compulsive liking crap from people’s dinners to their new slippers. Some adults behave ridiculous when it comes to Facebook. I’ve seen bullying by the same parents who preach to their kids not to bully and I’ve seen relationships fall apart at how addictive it is or what they are up to on the instant message.
Like everything it has it’s pros and cons but I’ve lived 27 years without it and I plan on continuing that way!

    Facebook:
Designer for Social Network and developed to an commercial product .
    1) they change the terms and conditions as they like, not to mention that our right would be kicked off.
    2) new personal page without sense but everyone has to follow
    3) kicked off the messenger into a separate app
    And now a buy button.
For me it is enough if the “buy button ” comes I cancel my account. May I can do after a new experience, no Facebook . Talk to the people, listen to them and have social fun as well.
Ok in a smaller “Workd” but in a real one.

Would prefer if Facebook was a paid service if it meant that they would stay true to their original ideas.

I baught some site off FB recently. Yeah maybe not supplied by them but they allowed them advertise.
What I received very late (like 4 weeks) was 1) a non functioning watch bigger than big Ben. Looked good on pic. Tells the time twice each day. 2) Counterfeit designer mend top.
Badly made and way way late.
    So it makes me wonder.
All came from China so I won’t be posting back. They better get their shit together, or maybe they just post it out?
