CLOSE THE CURTAINS. Light the fire. It’s going to be a nasty night out there.
Rain and strong winds are rolling in across the country. Met Éireann has issued an orange warning, that will remain in place until early tomorrow morning.
The yucky weather is set to continue after that, but photographer Terry MacSweeney caught this image yesterday during a break in the rain, just in case you need reminding that it’s not always this bad.
This is a stunning view of the Upper Lake and Long Range in Killarney National Park.
“I trekked up Torc Mountain with my rucksack of camera gear and tripod and departed the railway sleepers near the summit to try and find some new vistas of the lakes,” he said.
It was a long slog with the heavy rucksack but the rain showers cleared enough to get some photos of this beautiful part of Ireland to make it all worthwhile.
