Payback, buying an election and "Be Happy" - how the papers saw Budget 2015

A mixed bag of papers from a mixed bag Budget.

IT WAS IN many respects, a divisive Budget.

While some are happy with what was given to them, many feel they will be worse off when the whole equation is taken into account.

Of course, the whole thing dominates the front pages (along with John O’Shea, naturally).

Here’s how the nation’s, and world’s, media saw it.

The Irish Times and Irish Examiner see the Budget as a marker of things to come

The Mirror, Independent and Herald all take the line that while some was given, as much or more was taken away

The Star sees it as a “payback” Budget, but the Mail calls it electioneering

And The Sun just wants you to “Be Happy”

Internationally, the closing of the “Double Irish” loophole made headlines – unsurprisingly many were in America

Title should read house of the year. My wife makes my house a “home”.

Some of the best homes I was ever in were small houses. Small, simple, warm and friendly, where a cup of tea was never far away. What you speak of is a house competition. Bores displaying their houses to other bores.

Don’t you mean house rather than home, as a home is made from a family, while a house is made of wood or cement?
