Fancy a job as a public servant? Recruitment for 550 positions has started

The job will be filled over the next two years.

RECRUITMENT FOR 550 graduate and entry level public service positions has started today

Interviews for 300 clerical officer positions are underway and it is expected that these positions will be filled over the next two years. These people will be taking up positions across the civil service and public service in areas ranging from government departments to human resources.

At least 250 graduate positions are also expected to be filled over the next two years and the closing dates for these applications are at the end of this month.

Speaking today, Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Brendan Howlin, said he was pleased to be in a position to lift the moratorium on recruitment in a “targeted and focused way”.

The Public Appointments Service sources the highest quality candidates for positions in the civil and public service and is therefore essential in delivering quality services that our citizens want, need and deserve

Anyone interested in a position in the public service can look up vacancies here.

Not one of our governments in this country has ever understood that by reducing tax, more people can afford to spend money and they will spend it, boosting revenue. All Irish politicians understand is tax, tax, tax

“Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.”

there was a little more to it than that. Inflation was out of control in 1984 and adding duties to the old reliables was seen as unhelpful. They went ahead with it anyway.

Irish governments in the last 10 years just live tax whether you have money or not. Probably the worst Republic in the world.
