A FAMILY OF four, whose bodies were found at a house in Bradford, England, have been named as Jitendra Lad, 49, his wife Duksha, 44, and daughters Trisha, 19 and Nisha, 17.

Police were called to the scene in Clayton after the bodies were discovered at around 8.30pm last night.

West Yorkshire Police have said they do not believe anyone else was involved in the deaths.

“Enquiries are at a very early stage, but police are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the enquiry,” police said in a statement.

Detective Superintendent Simon Atkinson, from West Yorkshire Police’s Protective Services, said:

This is clearly a significant incident and our investigation will be thorough as we piece together the events that have led to the deaths of a local family. The investigation is at an early stage, and while I do not want to speculate around the circumstances leading to the deaths, I am happy to confirm that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.

Damien Miller, Superintendent Operations of Bradford District, who leads neighbourhood policing across the Bradford District, described Clayton as a “close knit community”

He said local people will be understandably upset by what has taken place and that he wanted to reassure people there is “no wider danger to members of the public”.

The father killed his wife and two teenage girls and then himself. Post mortems tomorrow to determine cause of death. I can understand that people are depressed so bad that they feel they can no longer live. But why kill your family that I cannot understand. Mental Health is such a huge issue these days. My heart goes out to the family and friends of this family and all families in similar situations.

Why is it automatically assumed it was the father who killed
his wife and daughters. When mental illness rears it’s
ugly head there is no logic of gender, age or class.

Even if it is, it is not fair to generalise, somewhere there is family left behind, trying to make sense of this. RIP, truly tragic story
