Reports of smoke in the cockpit forces flight to divert to Dublin Airport

The United Airlines flight landed safely at 6.15pm.

A FLIGHT FROM London to Washington DC was forced to divert to Dublin Airport after there were reports of smoke in the cockpit.

The United Airlines Boeing 777 plane was en route to the US after taking off from Heathrow Airport earlier this afternoon.

Safe landing 

The Dublin Airport Authority stated that the flight landed safely in Dublin at 6.15pm and all passengers are currently disembarking from the plane.

Emergency fire and ambulance crew are present at the scene, as is customary in these situations.
