These endless references to a fictional drama are getting tiring and detract from the very real problem of violent gangland crime in Dublin.

I hate the way people say Dublin is dangerous and 99% have never had an issue themselfs. If your living a life style with criminals then yes it very dangerous but if you keep to yourself then there’s no issue. Its very very rare an innocent person is shot.

Absolute nonsense! Dublin is a hellhole (and i’m from Dublin myself). It’s horribly dangerous during the day since the Junkie rats are stumbling around and at night it’s not even worth going near the place

Ever been attacked or mugged Matthew? Or is it that your just scared if your not surrounded by unicorns and fluffy pink clouds all the time. I get my bus ever day across from a drug clinic and have never had an issue. I get one of the “roughest” buses in Dublin where alcos are always down the back drinking but have never seen them harm or abuse anyone, the junkies who get on mind there own business, neither of these groups look or smell great but there mere presence shouldnt make you nervous or uncomfortable and if it does learn self defence so you have more confidence in yourself.

“We need the defence forces on the streets!!” (???) Are the Defence Forces on the Streets of Northern Ireland, Scotland or the USA or wherever (on any given day) you’re meant to claim to be from friend!?! If not, would it make much of a diference if they were!?! I fail to see how the Irish Defense Forces (In my mind, as prestigious as they are!!) could affect the current situation with gun crime in Ireland as it is! Aside from the fact that any military intervention on the streets of Ireland can only act as an aid to the civil powers (ie. An Garda Síochána or the Customs) what would you have them do out of curiosity, that the Civil powers that be aren’t doing already with the severely limited & half arsed political will to tackle any form of serious crime, aren’t doing already!?! (ie.that other than nonpayment of TV licence or property tax) Do you think the streets of Dublin are somewhat like the beaches of Normandy & there for the storming by the troops or something!?!

If it was republicans who were shooting up the streets every week the government would have the army out. These gangsters are just a layer that feeds a national criminal network of drug gangs that operate with impunity, they suck hundreds of millions a month out of the Irish economy and send it off to barons in Spain, if it was republicans who were operating abroad and flooding Ireland with guns and drugs the government would act so why do they let these gangs away with terrorising the state.

CSI Dublin strikes yet again. No Paul Reynolds-esque glamour biography on the Late Late for CSI Dublin tho, only Limerick gets that treatment. This being despite there being virtually no serious crime in Limerick for over 7 years now since the Dundons/Killeens were put away).

Cant beat the good old RTE propoganda.

It wasn’t Paul Reynolds that was on the late late show, It was Paul Williams. He was simply talking about how horrific the dundon gang were in their time. He also said how great Limerick was as a city. So stop talking through your arse!
