Here's how to make some decent (not tacky) Christmas decorations

Get into Blue Peter mode to kit out your home and save some cash this Christmas.

CHRISTMAS IS AN expensive time of year. Whatever money we do have, we want it to be spent on those we love.

High prices

To get into the Christmas spirit, a good way to start is by decorating your home, however, with some ornaments costing €6 a pop, who has that sort of money to splash?

While you may think of home-made decorations looking like this. (We’ve all made them in school and you might still have one hanging on your tree every year):

You can actually make something like this relatively easy:

Here’s how.

Go into any store this Christmas and you will see the price range for decorations vary. To make many of these DIY decorations, all you need is your basic Blue Peter sort of stuff, that won’t break the bank and will save you a fortune.

Wreaths are a great way to add a Christmas touch to your door, but prices can be from €15 to €40. This is an nice idea, that is easily done.

This is another idea for a home-made bauble Christmas tree. Just pick up some baubles in your local Euro shop, and your’re pretty much ready to go.

You can even make decorations out of simple twigs, buttons, twine and some pine needles. Found out how this is done on littlethingsbringsmiles.com.

Or little Christmas wreaths out of dyed rice:

Other ideas, might be a bit more work, but the results look great. Check out these Santa chair covers. Find out how to make them on makeit-loveit.com

Or what about using some old jars to make snow globes.

And there is always the old classic. The paper snowflakes. If you’ve forgotten, here’s how.

Should be shelter killers? Rapists? Child abusers? We are the police. This is OUR society. We should reject and convict those who commit crimes.
