OVER 15,000 STOLEN bottles of Jameson as well as gin and Jack Daniels could be bound for the Christmas market after an armed hold up at a Dublin warehouse.
At least five raiders in two trucks made-off with 2,580 cases of Jameson, cases of Bombay Sapphire gin and cases of Jack Daniels whiskey in a robbery on 14 November.
The robbery happened in the middle of the afternoon at the Parkwest industrial Estate in Ballyfermot when two men entered a warehouse armed with iron bars.
They threatened two employees and forced them to open the warehouse loading bay. At least three more men arrived and the employees were tied up.
The stolen alcohol was loaded onto two 40ft trucks which left Parkwest about an hour after the raid began.
The two trucks, one with a red cab and the other white, travelled along Killeen Road up to the junction of Nangor Road and then towards the Long Mile Road.
The trucks then turned onto the Naas road in the direction of the Red Cow roundabout but it is unknown whether they travelled onto the M50 or continued on the N7 towards Naas.
Gardaí say they believe the stolen alcohol will be offered for sale in the run up to Christmas and are appealing for members of the public who have been offered any spirits from non-licenced suppliers to come forward.
Anybody with any information on the movements of the two trucks or containers are also being asked to contact gardaí. This includes, they say, anyone who may have leased or hired the trucks or trailers to or from any individual.
The investigation is being led by gardaí at Ballyfermot Garda Station on 01-6667227.

What about water charges. USC and property taxes !
Roscommon is a beautiful county with plenty to see and do. People should visit and see for themselves before judging.

@Roisin Carty: I love lough key forest park, there’s a zip wire network set up there that’s so much fun, spend the day on the ‘assault’ courses and I tried the Boda Borg thing before too (think Chrystal Maze puzzle rooms) and the grounds themselves are beautiful. Looks like visiting rindoon is now on my list of places to visit

Probably abandoned due to delays in the Shannon drainage scheme.
